FIDGET SPINNER TRICKS – BEGINNERS TO PROS

Fidget spinners are great for occupying down-time, taking a break from devices, helping you focus, and for all-around mindless fun. But if you’re looking to take your fidget spinner to the next level, consider learning a few spinner tricks! Like yo-yos, there are a ton of tricks you can master for your spinner with a little patience and practice.

We’ve put together a list of spinner tricks and have given them our own name. The fun part is, once you master a trick, you can give it your own name.

SPINNER TRICKS FOR BEGINNERS

THE FINGER BALANCE
Explained: Probably the most basic trick and a great starting point as this is the start/finish of many other tricks. Simply hold your spinner between your thumb and pointer or your thumb and middle finger and get your spinner spinning. Make sure it’s spinning stably. Release your thumb and start balancing!

SPINNING TOSS (BASIC)
Explained: Get your spinner spinning (we recommend holding the spinner between your thumb and middle finger). With it spinning, you’ll toss the spinner from one hand to the next, catching it with your opposite hands thumb and middle finger.

Tip: Start with your hands close together. As you begin catching the spinner consistently, start to move your hands apart gradually.

THE FINGER HOP
Explained: Probably the most basic trick and a great starting point. Simply hold your spinner between your thumb and pointer or your thumb and middle finger and get your spinner spinning. Make sure it’s spinning stably. Release your thumb and start balancing!

VERTICAL TOSS AND GRAB

Explained: Get your spinner spinning (we recommend holding the spinner between your thumb and middle finger). Once spinning, turn the spinner so that it’s spinning vertically. Toss the spinner in the air and catch it in your opposite hand, between your thumb and middle finger.

Tip: Start with lower tosses. As you begin catching the spinner consistently, start to toss the spinner gradually higher to increase the difficulty factor.

ADVANCED FIDGET SPINNER TRICKS

UNDER ARM TOSS AND GRAB
Explained: Get your spinner spinning (we recommend holding the spinner between your thumb and middle finger). With it spinning in one hand, stick your opposite arm out in front of you. Toss the spinner under your out-stuck arm. You’ll then catch the spinning spinner between the thumb and middle finger of your previously out-stuck arm.

Tip: Start by tossing the spinning spinner across your body. Gradually work in tossing the spinner under your arm as you get the catch down more consistently.

THE KNEE SLAPPER

Explained: Get your spinner spinning (we recommend holding the spinner between your thumb and middle finger). Drop the spinning spinner and bring your knee up to meet the spinner. Bounce the spinner off your knee and catch the spinner in your hand.

Tip: It’s really important that your spinner is spinning level before you drop it on your knee. If the spinner is wobbling or dropped a little off level, the spinner will fly off to the side when it meets your knee.
